Kathy Giannangelo, MA, RHIA, CCS, CPHIMS, FAHIMA, has employed her extensive knowledge of terminology and classification systems to create these new ICD-10-CM Snapshot coding cards for the American Medical Association. Giannangelo is an independent coding consultant currently focusing her expertise on authoring books, articles, and training programs about ICD-10.

Some of her present work includes map lead for International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation. Past positions include content management director with Apelon, Inc., medical informaticist with Language and Computing, practice leadership director with the American Health Information Management Association, senior nosologist with HCIA, and vice president of product development with St. Anthony Publishing. Giannangelo holds a masters of arts in health information management and a certificate in healthcare informatics from The College of St. Scholastica.
